Cost Accountant

United States - Aiken 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the controller with daily, weekly, and monthly accounting, analysis and reporting responsibilities.
  • Responsible for the Cost accounting module of the SAP ERP System.  This includes the maintenance of all part cost tables, the maintenance of the budget, current, and forecast cost price calculations, maintenance of all rate sets, and the maintenance of the material, labor, and overhead cost buckets.
  • Responsible for the development of the manufacturing cost budgets and the development of the direct labor and overhead rates for the cost accounting module.
  • Preparation of the weekly and monthly manufacturing material, labor, and overhead cost variance analysis reports.
  • Preparation of a number of monthly reports required for the monthly financial package including monthly Inventory, inventory days, headcount tracking, scrap reporting, and cost improvement tracking.
  • Assist the manufacturing and engineering groups with costing and tracking company cost savings ideas. 
  • Preparation of periodic actual and forecasts sales reports
  • Assist in preparation of forecasted P&L reports
  • Preparation of period-end journal entries
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Cost Accountant

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Must have at least 3 years in an accounting position in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience in the automotive industry a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office software with strong Excel ability is required
  • Internet and e-mail
  • Strong SAP knowledge
  • Lotus Notes knowledge is a plus
