Project Engineer Pre-Development

Poland - Katowice - 100%

Your responsibilities

Pre-Development is accountable for robust new technology release and responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of Pre-Development Projects. It is the reference technical organization for all off-cycle and / or pre-RFQ related enquiries from the OEMs.

  • Support R&T throughout the Innovation Process and ensure execution of key engineering processes for a robust Product and Process (e.g. Engineering Maturity, Risks Analysis, etc.)
  • Ensure smooth handover from R&T to Product Development (Engineering Sign-Off)
  • Feedback / integrate lessons learnt from running business within the Business Group back to R&T
  • Support acquisition of Research and / or Pre-Development Projects in collaboration with the OEMs
  • Plan, coordinate and execute Pre-Development Projects with support from other Functions
  • Support handover to Advanced Engineering for RFQ
  • Adhere to company values and principles
  • Identify waste in daily job and bring ideas / solutions to eliminate it
  • Identify new ideas with environmental and sustainable approach
  • Support ad hoc requests from line manager

Your qualifications

  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar
  • 7+ years of experience in the engineering and development of products in the automotive industry, with in-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes in his / her field of expertise
  • Hands-on experience with key engineering processes (DFMEA, DVP, etc.) as well as troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques (PDCA, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Strong organization and high level of self-reliance
  • Project management skills, familiar with agile method
  • Analytical thinking and decision making within scope of responsibility
  • Clear communication with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Particularly comfortable with customer relationships
  • Results oriented, dynamic attitude and hands-on approach to work
  • Global spirit and cross-border attitude
  • Full working proficiency in English
  • German and French are an advantage
  • Willing to travel
