The Human Resources Generalist works in conjunction with the Manager of Human Resources to provide support to plant operations. Must be well organized and detail oriented, have a high energy level, and effectively build relationships with team members across all functions.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Professionalism and confidentiality are crucial in this role in order to protect the organization’s reputation. This position requires some supervision.
Human Resources Generalist

Your responsibilities
- Process hourly payroll
- Assist in directing the work of HR Intern/s and HR Coordinator.
- Site expert in ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time and Attendance.
- Provide ad hoc reports as requested.
- Serve as HR Department project person.
- Provide training, when necessary, to users of time and attendance system, ADP, etc.
- Provide Leadership, discipline, and support to ensure the highest level of safety, housekeeping (5S), and professionalism in the HR department.
- Assist and coordinate the recruitment, selection, and promotion process of applicants to meet hourly and salaried staffing requirements.
- Schedule Employee Involvement and other HR related meetings.
- Assists in administration of company benefit plans and programs.
- Assists with managing paperwork and required communication with employees on Leaves of Absence, including leaves covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act and those eligible for Short Term Disability coverage.
- Keeps record of Personnel Transactions, such as New Hires, Promotions, Transfers, Performance Reviews and Terminations.
- Represents Company at Personnel related hearings and investigations (including Counseling and Terminations).
- Responsible for maintaining HR related reports and overseeing other reports (monthly, 30,60,90 day evaluations, training matrix, hourly staffing matrix, etc.).
- Maintains hourly employee data in Human Resources Information System.
- Responsible for Job Posting System (posting, scheduling interviews, tracking, staffing matrix pay changes, etc.).
- Assist with salaried recruiting.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Payroll and Human Resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Assist with investigations as needed.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct and/or oversee New Hire Orientation and related documents and presentation.
- Administers Attendance, discipline and PTO/vacation for hourly Team Members.
- Facilitates Employee Activity Team meetings.
- Manage a minimum of (1) Continuous Improvement project throughout the year (Reporting out as required).
- Attend meetings as needed (Daily Production Meeting, weekly hourly staffing meeting, weekly Suggestion/APS meeting and Town Hall.
- Ensure compliance with all related TS-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures as related to HR.
- Administration of Autoneum’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
- Administer unemployment claims
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Earn trust of all Team Members (hourly and salary).
- Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Human Resources Management or related field from four-year College or University.
- Must have basic understanding of Federal and State employment laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Language Ability:
- Ability to write reports and correspondence and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees is required
Math Ability:
- Intermediate math skills are required
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists is required
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office (Powerpoint, Word, and Excel) and Lotus notes
- Proficient in HRIS
- Knowledge of payroll systems
- ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time and Attendance (a plus)
