The Operations manager provides efficient management of IT Operations which include but are not limited to:

Fostering a project based business-oriented mindset.

Collect, process, condense and standardize the IT Operations landscape and ensuring each local Systems Administrator/Network Expert/Data Center Expert maintain an up-to-date business relationship with the top five functional department heads at their facilities. 

This role is also be an interface from IT competence centers and global Infrastructure to SAP, PLM, MES, and PMO under the direction of the Head of IT BG.

Your responsibilities


  • Plan, coordinate, and manage Operations project activities
  • Managing and advising IT Operations standards
  • Responsible for IT Operations services for all Autoneum functions and  plants in the region

Main tasks:

  • Implement and maintain standards, processes, monitoring, controls and discipline across the operation to deliver reliable and predictable environment for server, storage, database, virtualization, end user computing and windows technologies. Develop and maintain reliable IT Computer and Helpdesk services support staff that supports both the internal IT and business needs.
  • Communicate objectives, set key performance indicators for the team, and review and approve technical solutions presented by staff in support of customer needs.
  • Manage the staff of the service desk, including motivation, hiring, reviews, overall performance and training. Candidates should be skilled at managing large groups.
  • Develop, manage, measure and report on key service-level metrics, including average response time, first-contact-resolution rate, mean time to repair.
  • Build relationships with all IT teams to ensure that IT-delivered services and end-user productivity goals are understood and exceeded.
  • Perform FMEA functions, and develop action plans to address areas needing improvement.
  • Close cooperation with Corporate IT Service centers and global Infrastructure teams to shared best practices, define Infrastructure standards, understand and adhere to global Infrastructure standards.
  • Budget responsibility: Operations costs and Projects.

  • Experienced with Disaster Recovery designs and Business Continuity
  • Maintain statistics necessary to trend infrastructure results and to report them on a periodic basis.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees.
  • Required qualifications:
  • ITIL certification (preferred)
  • PMI certification (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 8 – 10 years industry experience, and 5 – 7 years in a management role leading Computer, Network and Critical data center operations.
  • Broad understanding of data center facilities, data backup systems, server, storage, database, network and helpdesk environment and must have a good understanding of applications processing including their related batch and production control processes.
  • Strong business orientation with insight as to how Data Center operational issues impact business operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Products on admin level, Storage Area Networks, Virtualization, Network Technologies, DBs, and VoIP / Contact Center solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outsourced providers and maintaining partnerships with key vendors.


Main Skillsets

  • Microsoft Office products (Office 2016, Office365 online, Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint).
  • Microsoft O365 Online Administration of any of the following would be a plus:
  • Exchange, Teams, PowerApps (formally Flow), AD Azure, ADFS (all go hand in hand with powershell usage)
  • Microsoft SQL Administration Installation, best practices, backup jobs, basic queries.
  • OSI 7 Layer Model troubleshooting methods.
  • Network switching/routing.  L2 VLAN configurations mostly though knowledge of L3 routing protocols is a plus (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
  • Storage Administration from SAN to NAS, iSCSI to NIC teaming NFS and CIFS shares and disk space management.
  • Wireless Lan Controller knowledge of how lightweight AP’s are managed and the broadcast SSID technologies. Conducting a proper wireless site survey.
  • AD skills such as Group Policy editing, Failover Cluster Managers, DNS, DHCP, DFS
  • PowerShell commands and some scripting knowledge is a plus
  • Basic Microsoft WSUS and SCCM knowledge
  • Server administration HPE preferred
  • Hyper-V more than basic knowledge.  From file management to installation of HA hosts, HA VM’s down to application HA. Experience with the Inner working of Hyper-V is needed.
  • Linux commands and basic knowledge. CentOS, Raspbian, Ubuntu, Suse
  • Mobile Device support basics iPhone & Android
  • Firewall configurations including IPSEC and SSL VPN tunnels, IPv4 policy based rules.
  • Documentation.  Technical setups to work instructions for 1st level to process explanations and flows.
