MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Organization of needed instruments for the tooling department
- Run activities with the relevant process instructions (for example ASC 5000)
- Develops tools specifications.
- Maintains tools specifications.
- Implement results from product-specific projects or programs into the specifications.
- Evaluate and implement results from “Lessons learned” into the specifications (closed-loop control system)
- Ensures the legal compliance of the tools (safety)
- Optimizes the costs (performs VA/VE activities for tooling)
- Specification meets the requests of 16949 and ISO 14001
- Processing of data (for example part data/ tool surface creation and optimization)
During the project phases:
- Develops tooling RFQ files & supply tooling offers for the pre-sales project.
- Develops tooling concept in preparation of quotation (Pre-series (incl; Prototype) and production)
- Propose the tools supplier in collaboration with purchasing department.
- Ensures implementation of up-to-date tooling technology
- Support development of process / tooling flow charts & feasibility
- Part feasibility study in the tooling perspective
- Reviews feedback from pre-series (incl. prototype) builds
- Ensures a detailed tooling definition and specifications.
- Check & approve the tool construction design.
- Monitor and control the tooling manufacturing process to ensure the tooling quality & time from the toolmaker.
- Make the trial out together with the PD/PE and handover the tools incl. all related spare parts & documents to the production plant.
- Ensures the tools readiness and performance in due time and cost target.
- Ensures all the tools for the trade tools’ quality & time, to support the result of part quality over the lifetime.
